Since 1950, the Intercity League (ICL) has brought some of the best amateur baseball in New England to communities throughout Greater Boston.
The ICL season begins each June, with teams playing an approximately 25-game regular season before competing for the league championship in the ICL playoffs in August.
For more than 75 years, ICL franchises have represented communities across Greater Boston, including Medford, Wakefield, Lexington, Malden, Everett, Somerville, Melrose, Cambridge, Reading, Wilmington, Winthrop, Lynnfield, Woburn, Waltham, Lowell, East Boston, Arlington, Winchester, Watertown, and Stoneham.
Generations of accomplished baseball players have competed in the Intercity League. Many have gone on to professional baseball, while many others have played at outstanding college baseball programs throughout the country.
The ICL brings together top collegiate players, professional baseball prospects, former professional players, and established amateur veterans. The result is highly competitive summer baseball played at ballparks throughout the Greater Boston area.
Competition has always been at the heart of the Intercity League, with players and teams competing each summer for one of the longest-running amateur baseball championships in New England.
Admission to all Intercity League regular-season games is free.
