Americans Walk Off with 7-6 Win, Keskinidis Throws 4-Hitter, Chiefs’ Clegg Beats Blue Sox

Malcolm Nachmanoff had two hits, including a double, and three RBI’s, to lead the Americans to a wild 7-6 comeback win over the Watertown Reds at Morelli Field. The Americans scored four times in bottom of the seventh inning to take the walk off win. The Reds tallied three runs in top of the inning to break a 3-3 tie and take a 6-3 lead. Ronnie Luke (1-0) got the win when he recorded the last out in Reds’ seventh. Hunter Boyce added two RBI’s for the now 4-2 Americans.

At Endicott College,  Steve Keskinidis (1-0) threw a complete game four-hitter to get the Wakefield Merchants past the Reading Bulldogs 4-1.  Bobby Losanno had three hits, including a triple, and Mark Webber had a double and a single, and Mike Sorrentino recorded a double and a couple of RBI’s  for the Merchants. Darren Hartwell had two of the Bulldogs four hits as Colby Morris (0-1) took the loss.

The Chiefs broke open a 1-1 game, sending ten batters to the plate and scoring six fifth inning runs, on the way to beating the Lexington Blue Sox 7-3 at Maplewood. Mitchell Clegg (1-0) scattered three hits and struck out seven in six innings to chalk up the win. Mike Gedman hit a two run homer and Johnny Welch and Mike Andre had RBI’s to lead the Chiefs. Chris Law (0-1), in relief of Drew Leenhouts, took the loss.
