Maddogs Get 6th Seed with 7-0 Win Over Royals in Friday’s Play-in Game

The Malden Maddogs broke a 0-0 tie, scoring seven runs in the sixth inning, and went on to beat the Somerville Royals 7-0 in Friday night’s play-in game at Morelli Field in Melrose.

With the win, the Maddogs grab the sixth seed in the ICL Playoffs. They will now move on to meet the #3 Wakefield Merchants in a first round series that begins on Sunday at Walsh Field at 3:00 PM.

The other first round series will also get underway on Sunday. The #5 Andre Chiefs will visit the #4 Reading Bulldogs at Morton Field/Reading HS starting at 4:00 PM.

The Lexington Blue Sox and Alibrandis, both who earned first round byes, will await the winners.
