Wakefield Merchants were Organized in 1962. 2016 will be Merchants 55th year in the Intercity League. The Merchants have provided over 1,000 players a full summer of high caliber baseball. Former Majors Leaguers who have played with the Merchants include: John Tudor, Joe Vitiello, Dave Leorhard and Jack Troutwein. More than 40 players have advanced to pro ball.
