Chiefs and Blue Sox Gain Shutout Wins, Maddogs Beat ADSL

Blue Sox and Sabers Get Monday Wins
The Lexington Blue Sox reversed a 3-0 deficit and came back to beat the Lexington Bulldogs 6-4 on Monday night. Jake McElroy and Nick Anderson drove in a couple of runs each for the Blue Sox. Pat McGowan (1-0) picked up the win with one inning of scoreless relief. Nick Favazzo had three hits (2 doubles) for the Bulldogs. The win was the 1oth in the last 11th games for the Blue Sox. The Stoneham Sabers got a route going effort from Julian Murray to turn back the East Boston Knights 12-6 at Maplewood. Nick Bartalini led the Sabers with three hts, including two triples, and two RBI’s. Murray, (2-2) struck out a dozen.
Sunday’s ICL Roundup
Nick Colucci (3-2) fired a six-hit shutout, striking out seven, to lead the Meltose Americans to a 5-0 win over the Lexington Bulldogs at Morelli Field on Sunday. It was the Americans’ sixth straight win and raised their record to 14-7-1 on the year. Jack Beverly led the way at the plate with a homer, single, and four RBI’s. Ted Giardina added a RBI double for the winners. The Lexington Blue Sox beat the Andre Chiefs 7-1 in a game that was continued from June 20th. The Chiefs led 1-0 when the gane was suspended in the third inning back in June. When play resumed in the bottom of the third inning,the Blue Sox scored four times thanks to an RBI triple by Anderson Jimenez and three Chiefs errors. Charlie Walsh singled in two runs in the sixth inning to close out the scoring. Matt Draper pitched four shutout innings in relief to earn the win. He struck out five and gave up only two hits. In other action, the Stoneham Sabers beat the Malden Maddogs 7-0.
Chiefs Beat East Boston, 13-2
Tyler Ferdinand drove in three runs, with a single and double, to lead the Andre Chiefs to a 13-2 win over the Yawkey League’s Knights at East Boston Stadium on Friday night. It was the only game played involving an ICL team. Juan Parra (RBI) had a single and triple and Teddy Dziuba, Nolan Lopes and Emanuel Rosado each drove in two runs. Esteban Santos-Fuentes (1-0) struck out eight in five innings to get his first win of the season. It was the Chiefs’ 13th win in a row. There are no ICL games scheduled for Saturday.
Thursday’s ICL Recap
The Andre Chiefs won their 12th game in a row when they beat the Palmer Club 20-6 at Fallon Field in Roslindale on Thursday evening. Miles Reid, Byron Woodman (double 3 RBI), and Nolan Lopes, had four hits each to lead the 24 hit attack. Joe Bova (2 doubles,) and Mitchell Schroeder (double, 2 RBI) added three hits apiece. Paul Frisoli (2-0, 7K’s) went all seven innings to get the win. The Lexington Blue Sox put up 20 runs of their own in a 20-0 five inning rout of The BASE in West Roxbury. Julian Alvarez, with a grand slam, led the Blue Sox six home run parade while Jake McElroy, Ryan Grace, Joe Auger, Brett Stone, and Austyn Travis all hit round trippers. Jack Beauchesne (2-0) picked up the win in relief of starter Chris Wanat. Cole Donato finished up with a scoreless inning, striking out two. It was the 9th win in their last 10 games for the Sox. The Melrose Americans stayed hot, winning their 5th straight, and added to the Thurdsay romps with a 16-2 win over ADSL at Town Field in Dorchester. Tad Giardina had a huge night at the plate going 3-4 with a homer, double, two runs scored, and four RBI’s. Owen Duggan (3 singles), John Jennings (double), Chris Klein, and Ian Libby (double) all chipped in with two RBI’s each to add to the Americans’ 18 hit asault. Matt Chiodo (1-0) went the six inning distance and allowed just two runs while striking out five batters. The Lexington Bulldogs got a two hit, six shutout inning effort from Ezra Charles and blanked the Boston Athletics 7-0 at Lexington High School. John Nordman led the way at the plate for the Bulldogs with a perfect 3 for 3 evening that included two doubles and a couple of RBI’s. Mike Sibert (2 doubles), Reuben Siegel, Matthew Favazzo, and Dylan Steinkrauss (2-2, double, 2 RBI) all added two hits for the Bulldogs. Charles, who struck out seven, evened his record at 2-2 and lowered his ERA to 2.74. Greg Gentle preserved the shutout by working a scoreless seventh. In other action, Mass Envelope/GM beat the Malden Maddogs 14-7 at Maplewood.
