Chiefs Get Wednesday Win as ICL Heads to Fourth of July Break

Chiefs Beat Expos 7-2, Rain Washes Out Other Games
The Andre Chiefs beat the Sabertooth Expos 7-2 at Maplewood in the only ICL game that was able to be played on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs-Americans game at Morelli Field and the Maddogs-Blue Sox game in Lexington were both rained out. The Chiefs-Expos game began after an hour rain delay. Andrew Caulfield led the Chiefs to the win with two hits, including a double, and had three RBI’s. Leadoff man Juan Parra reached base four consecutive times, on three hits and a walk and scored three runs and Miles Reid had two hits and scored twice for the winners. Jonathan Chotkowski (1-0), the second of five pitchers the Chiefs used in the game, picked up the win. On Thursday the Chiefs will visit the Blue Sox in Lexington and the Maddogs and Expos meet at Maplewood. Both games will begin at 8:00 PM.
Americans Win 11-4, Bulldogs Edge Blue Sox 3-2
John Jennings went 4 for 5 and Pat Costigan had two hits and three RBI’s to lead the Melrose Americans to an 11-4 win over the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood. Jordan Gottesman (1-0) went two innings in relief of starter Mike Nestor to get the win. In Lexington, Vincent Lougidice (5 innings) and Drew Crowley (1-0, 2 innings) combined on a six-hitter to get the Bulldogs past the Blue Sox 3-2. Graham Seed had two hits, including a double and RBI, to lead the Bulldogs offense. Julian Alvarez hit a solo homer for the Blue Sox. A full slate is on tap for Wednesday. The Americans host the Bulldogs at Morelli at 7:30 PM, the Andre Chiefs meet the Sabertooth Expos at Maplewood at 8:00 PM, and the Blue Sox and Maddogs hook up in Lexington also at 8:00 PM.
Chiefs Win Third Straight, Beat Americans 7-4
Teddy Dziuba reached base three times, scored two runs, and drove in another, and Nick Valdario had two hits and an RBI, when the Andre Chiefs beat the Melrose Americans 7-4 at Maplewood on Monday night. Lefty Tim Dunphy (2-1) picked up his second win of the season working the first five innings and allowing just two runs. Juan Parra, Andrew Caulfield and Nate Witkowski all had RBI’s in the game for the Chiefs. Mike Nestor had two hits and a couple of RBI’s for the Americans. Ronnie Luke (0-1), the first of five pitchers the Americans used in the game, took the loss. On Tuesday, the Blue Sox host the Bulldogs in Lexington and the Americans visit the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood. Both games begin at 8:00 PM.
Bulldogs Blank Maddogs 7-0 on Sunday
The host Lexington Bulldogs got into the win column with a 7-0 win over the Malden Maddogs in the only ICL game that was scheduled on Sunday. On Monday, the Melrose Americans will visit the Andre Chiefs at Maplewood at 8:00 PM.
