Sunday’s Recap

The ICL beagn its last week of the regular season with three games on Sunday. The Malden Maddogs beat the Stoneham Sabers 9-6 at Recreation Park, the Middlesex Expos blanked TJO Sports at Wildwood Park in Burlington 4-0, and the Lexington Bulldogs crushed the E.I. Braves 12-1 at Catholic Memorial. On Monday, the Melrose Americans host the Lexington Blue Sox at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM, the Bulldogs travel to meet the Andre Chiefs at 8:00 PM at Maplewood, and Expos and Maddogs meet at 8:00 PM at Lexington High.

Expos Beat Chiefs 6-4 to Remain in Playoff Hunt

The Middlesex Expos jumped out to 5-1 second inning lead and went on to beat the Andre Chiefs 6-4 on Friday night at Maplewood. Kebler Peralta and Leon Paulino each had two hits, including a double, and a couple of RBI’s each. Dan Shaw (2-2) went the distance to get the win. Shaw allowed nine hits and struck out 10. With the win, the Expos stay alive for a playoff spot. It was the fifth straight loss for the Chiefs……The Malden Maddogs at Palmer Club game, scheduled for Fallon Field in Roslindale, was postponed,,,,,

Blue Sox Unbeaten Streak Reaches 16 Games, Expos, Bulldogs Get Wednesday Wins

David VanderZouwen and Ryan Grundy had three hits each, and Paatrick Casserly drove in three runs, to lead the Blue Sox to a 11-4 win over the Stoneham Sabers in Lexington on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Lexington unbeaten steak reached 16 games dating back to a loss to the E.I. Braves on June 23. Chris Wanat (4-1) got the win with three innings of hitless relief……The Middlesex Expos handed the two-time defending champion Andre Chiefs their fouth consecutive loss 6-2 at Maplewood. Louis Cespedes (3-1) struck out 12 to get the complete game win. Alex MacDonagh had two hits and three RBI’s for the Expos…..The Lexington Bulldogs beat the Melrose Anericans 3-1 at Morelli Field. The duo of Jack Sadoowski (1-0) and Alec Peruzzi outdueled Alex Parisi (2-2), who struck out 11, to get the win. Matt Favazzo delivered a key two RBI single in the top of the third inning….

Blue Sox and Bulldogs Grab Tuesday Wins

Matt Draper (4-1) fired a four-hitter when the Lexington Blue Sox beat the Malden Maddogs 8-1 at Maplewood. Ryan Grundy had three RBI’s. Draper struck out nine and walked only one……The Bulldogs scored three runs each in the first, third, and fifth innings on the way to beating the Brighton Black Sox 9-4 in Lexington. Brett Stone homered and Jay Voica added a double and three RBI’s. Greg Gentle (1-0) got the win….In other cross-over games, the E.I Braves shutout the Andre Chiefs 7-0 at Cleveland Circle and ADSL kocked off the Stoneham Sabers 5-2 at Town Field……
