Americans Beat Chiefs, Blue Sox Stay Hot
Matt Elwell and John Jennings each had two hits and drove in a run to lead the Melrose Americans to a 4-2 win over the Andre Chiefs at Maplewood. Aidan Barry (1-0) went 5.2 innings to record the win while Nick Colucci chalked up his fourth save….In an all-Lexington battle, the Blue Sox stayed hot with a 6-5 win over the Bulldogs. The Sox took the lead for good with a five run bottom of the fourth inning. Julian Alvarez and Luis Atiles each had two RBI’s. Cole Donato (1-0) got the win and Luke Marshall the save……
Sabers Top Expos, Bulldogs Beat Chiefs
Carmen Piwnicki (2-3) got the win and Dionys Quezada the save when the Stoneham Sabers held off the Middlesex Expos 8-6 on Sunday at Ferullo Field. Nick Mazzarella (2-2, homer) and Nick Bartalini each drove in two runs for Stoneham…..In Lexington, the Bulldogs scored eight times in the bottom of the second inning, erasing a 4-1 defecit, on the way to beating the Andre Chiefs 13-4. Shane Costello homered and had three RBI’s and Seamus Condon had a three run homer. Shaun Marsh (2-0) went five innings to record the win….
Blue Sox Unbeaten Streak Extends to 13 Games
The Lexington Blue Sox erased a 4-0 defecit and scored seven unanswered runs on the way to a 7-4 win over Mass Envelope/Grossman Marketing at Minuteman Vocational on Friday evening. With the win the Blue Sox extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games (12-0-1) dating back to June 26. The first seven Lexington batters reached base in the five run sixth inning. Anderson Jimenez singled to drive in runs two and three abd then scored on Ryan Grundy’s double for a 5–4 lead. Lexington added two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Julian Alvarez drove in a couple of runs, scored twice, and added an RBI. Luke Descheneaux (3-1) picked up the win with four innings of two-hit pitching in relief of starter Grant Strother.
Blue Sox Beat Expos, Sabers Top Americans, McKay Rallies to Beat Bulldogs
Nick Andersen’s two-run inside-the-park home run gave the Blue Sox a 6-2 lead in the sixth and the they went on to beat the Middlesex Expos 8-2 on Thursday night in Lexington. Jake McElroy singled and drove in two runs in the fifth for a 4-1 Blue Sox lead. Chris Wanat (3-1) earned his third win. He gave up three hits, walked none, and struck out one……The Stoneham Sabers rung out 16 hits, and got homers from Dionys Quezada and Ryan Bowdridge, on the way to a 12-5 win over the Melrose Americans at Maplewood. Chris Klein hit his second home run of the season for Melrose. Jack Raimo (2-1) went six innings to get the win…….The McKay Club rallied and scored five times in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and beat the Lexington Bulldogs 8-6 at Rogers Park in Brighton. Ian Born had a double and triple for the Bulldogs……The Andre Chiefs at E.I. Braves game was rescheduled and will be played at Cleveland Circle on July 29th at 7:45 PM,,,,,,
