Rosati (9 K’s, 5-Hitter) and Berg Lead Americans to 5-2 Win at Trum

Christian Rosati threw a complete game five-hitter to lead the Melrose Americans to a 5-2 win over the Somerville Royals at Trum Field in the only ICL game played on Tuesday. Isaiah Berg had two hits, including a double and two RBI’s, and Tom Petry had a couple of singles to lead the Melrose offense.  Rosati (2-1) struck out nine batters, allowed just one earned run, and walked only one in the route going win. Ryan Covelle (2-1) suffered his first loss of the year for Somerville.

Three ICL games are on the Wednesday schedule. The Americans host the Chiefs at Morelli Field in Melrose at 7:30 PM, the Trojans and Reds battle at Victory Field in Watertown at 7:45 PM, and the Royals host the Bulldogs at Trum at 8:15 PM.
