July 11, 2019/in News and Notes/by iclbaseball

The Lexington Blue Sox extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 7-1 win over the Merchants in Wakefield. Mitch Schroeder and Anderson Jimenez each had a two RBI triple when the Sox scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning. Kevin Lucey tripled to drive in Jake Nardone for the Merchants run.
Mike Geanellis (3-0) went five innings to get the win.

Sean Doherty hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning when the Malden Maddogs came from behind to beat the Andre Chiefs 7-5 at Maplewood. The Chiefs scored all their runs in the bottom of the second inning on a R.J. Libby bases clearing triple and a Ben Waldrip two run homer. Ricky Alexy struck out the Chiefs side in order in the seventh inning to preserve the Maddogs win.

In Watertown, the Somerville Royals and Alibrandis played to a 4-4 tie.

The Merchants travel to Morelli Field at 7:30 PM to meet the Melrose Americans in the only ICL game scheduled for Thursday.
