Tuesday’s Inter-League Play

Tim Dunphy (2-0) went five innings to chalk up the win when the Andre Chiefs beat the YBL’s Brighton Black Sox 6-1 at Brandeis University. Luis Tejada went 3-4 with a couple of RBI’s to lead the Chiefs offense. Hector Pellot, Emmanuel Rosario and Nate Witkowski each had two hits and Nick Valdario added two RBI’s for the winners.

At Town Field, the Lexington Blue Sox shutout the Boston Athletics of the Boston Park League 12-0. Starter Matt Draper allowed just one hit in four innings. Nick Andreson gave the Sox all the runs tey would need with a first inning grand slam. Reliever Jake Zawitsky struck out the A’s side in the last inning.

In other action, the E.I. Braves beat the Lexington Bulldogs at LHS 6-2, The BASE edged the Malden Maddogs 6-5 at Maplewood and TJO Sports erased a 6-1 lead to walk off with a 8-7 win over the Middlesex Expos at Fallon Field.

On Wednesday, the Americans host the Palmer Club at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM, the Bulldogs visit the Brighton Braves at Rogers Park, and the Blue Sox play TJO Sports in Lexington starting at 8:00 PM.

Monday’s Inter-League Roundup

Ruben Rodriguez Jr went 4-4, including a double and triple, and had five RBI’s, to lead the Andre Chiefs to a 12-0 win over the Brighton Braves of the Yawkey League at Maplewood. Righty Silas Reed (2-0) was immense in his five innings of work, striking out 13 and allowing just three hits. Nick Valdario, Miles Reid and Nate Witkowski each had two hits for the Chiefs.

Nick Anderson had a homer, triple, double and six RBI’s when the Lexington Blue Sox knocked off the Yawkey League’s McKay Club 13-1 at LHS. Yemer Pineda (1-0) and Pat McGowan combined on a nine strikeout three-hitter.

Louis Cespedes (1-0) sttuck out eight in six innings and Brayan Garre got the save in the Middlesex Expos’ 6-5 win over the Palmer Club of the Boston Park League at Fallon Field in Roslindale. Jose Paulino had a double and two RBI’s for the Expos.

ADSL of the Boston Park League scored a couple of runs in each of the first two innings and then held off the Stoneham Sabers 4-1 at Town Field in Dorchester. Nelson Correa drove in the Sabers only run in the top of the fifth inning. Chris Knight (0-1) and Julian Murray allowed just four hits in the loss.

 

 

Melrose Americans

Americans Win Third Straight, 10-3

The Melrose Americans put up crooked numbers in the first and fourth innings to stay perfect (3-0) and hand the Blue Sox their first loss (1-1-1) in a 10-3 win in Lexington on Friday night. It was the only game on the iCL schedule.

The Americans scored all the runs they’d need on four consecutive two-out hits in the top of the 1st, punctuated by Tad Giardina’s three-run homer to dead center.

After allowing three runs on two hits in the bottom of the first, Brandon McMahon (1-0) allowed no runs and two hits over the next five innings to pick up his first win. Ryan Dolan struck out the Blue Sox in order in the bottom of the seventh.

Jon Leuders and Anderson Jimenez each had a double and scored a run for the Blue Sox.

There are no ICL games on Saturday.

Bulldogs and Chiefs Win on Thursday

The Lexington Bulldogs overcame a 2-1 deficit, scoring six runs in the fourth inning, and then held off the Middlesex Expos 7-5 in Lexington. The Bulldogs took advantage of 10 walks issued by Expos pitching and got RBI’s from Graham Seed, Dylan Steinkrauss, and Nana Adu. Ezra Charles (1-0) went five innings to get the win.

At Maplewood, the Andre Chiefs scored 10 times in the fifth inning and came away with a 12-1 win over the Al Thomas A’s of the Yawkey League in their first inter-league game in history.
Juan Parra led the Chiefs, going 3-4 with three RBI’s Tim Dunphy (1-0) pitched five innings to gain the win.

The Blue Sox will host the Melrose Americans in Lexington on Friday starting at 8:00 PM.

Nestor, Jennings Lead Americans, Blue Sox & Maddogs Gain Wednesday Wins

Mike Nestor allowed just one hit over 6.1 innings to lead the Melrose Americans to a 3-1 win over the Andre Chiefs at Morelli Field on Wednesday night. John Jennings drove in all three of the runs. Nestor struck out nine before giving way to Nick Colucci who picked up the save in the seventh. Shai Cohen (0-1) took the loss.

The Lexington Blue Sox got four RBI’s from Jean Ramirez and three hits, including a triple, from Ben Leonard to beat the Stoneham Sabers 11-5 in Lexington.

In other action, the Malden Maddogs scored six times in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat the Lexington Bulldogs 13-10. The Bulldogs scored seven runs of their own in the top of the fifth to take a 10-7 lead.

On Thursday the Bulldogs host the Middlesex Expos at LHS at 7:00 PM and the Al Thomas A’s of the Yawkey League visit the Chiefs at Maplewood at 8:00 PM.

Bulldogs Rally to Edge Sabers, Maddogs Beat East Boston in Inter-League Play

The Lexington Bulldogs rallied with a seventh inning run to tie the game at 3-3 then won it in walk off fashion when they took a 4-3 nine inning win over the Stoneham Sabers at LHS on Tuesday evening. Greg Gentile (1-0) went three innings to record the win.

At Maplewood, the Malden Maddogs knocked off the East Boston Knights of the Yawkey League 7-5 to give the ICL its first Inter-League win of the saeson.

ICL play continues with three games on Wednesday. The Andre Chiefs visit the Melrose Americans at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM, the Blue Sox host the Sabers in Lexington and the Bulldogs and Maddogs hook up at Maplewood both in 8:00 PM starts.

 

 

Chiefs Over Maddogs 8-2, Expos-Blue Sox in 0-0 Nine Inning Tie

Silas Reed went six innings to pick up the win and the Andre Chiefs used a five run sixth inning to pull away from the Malden Maddogs 8-2 at Maplewood on Monday night. Ruben Rodriguez Jr led the Chiefs with three RBI’s and Joe Bova drove in a couple of runs.

In Monday’s other gane, the Middlesex Expos and the Lexington Blue Sox battled to 0-0 nine inning tie.

On Tiesday, the Bulldogs host the Stoneham Sabres in Lexington at 7:00 PM and the East Boston Knights of the Yawkey League visit the Maddogs at Maplewood at 8:00 PM.

Americans, Expos Win Openers, Black Sox Beat Bulldogs in First Inter-league Game

ICL action got undereay on Sunday.

Ronnie Luke went six innings to get the win when the Melrose Americans beat the Stoneham Sabres 9-3 at Recreation Park.

In East Boston, the Middlesex Expos got a two run walk off double from Eduardo Soto to come from behind and edge the Malden Maddogs 5-4.

The Brighton Black Sox broke a 2-2 tie with single runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to beat the Lexington Bulldogs 4-2 in the first inter-league game.

The Middlesex Expos visit the Blue Sox in Lexington and the Andre Chiefs host the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood on Monday evening. Both games start at 8:00 PM.
