Chiefs Beat Bulldogs & Sabers Over Americans, Others PPD

The Andre Chiefs won their eighth straight game, beating the Malden Maddogs 13-3 at Maplewood on Wednesday night. Evan Walsh (2-0) went 5.2 innings, allowing four hits and striking out six, to get the win. Andrew Caulfield got the Chiefs going with a two run homer in  the first inning while Mitchell Schroeder had a single, double, triple and thrre RBI’s.

Jack Raimo (1-2) tossed five innings to record his first win of the season to lead the Stoneham Sabers to a 9-3 win over the Melrose Americans at Morelli Field. Tommy Shimchak, Nelson Correa and Matt Consgli had two hits each and Luis Quintero launched a solo homer for the Sabers. Ted Giardina had two of the Americans’ seven hits.

The BASE at Lexington Bulldogs and the Lexington Blue Sox at Middlesex Expos games were both postponed due to rain.

Sabers Walk Off Bulldogs 5-4 with 3 Run Seventh Inning

The Stoneham Sabers got a game winning walk off hit from Luis Quintero, and scored times in the bottom of the seventh inning, to walk off with a 5-4 win over the Lexington Bulldogs at Maplewood on Tuesday evening. Chris Barnes went the distance in a gutsy performance on the mound. Barnes struck out 12 Bulldogs and came back from a rain delay to finish the game. Barnes earned his second win of the season.Matt Consigli was hot at the plate and had two hits, a double, RBI and a run scored. Qunitero also had two hits on the day, including a double. Nick Bartalini, Consigli and Mike Maselli helped load the bases in the 7th, to set up the come from behind win.
It was the only ICL game played on Tuesday.

Cespedes No-Hits Sabers in Expos Win, Chiefs Nip Blue Sox 1-0 Behind Reed

Louis Cespedes fired a no-hitter when the Middlesex Expos beat the Stoneham Sabers 10-1 at East Boston Stadium on Monday night. Cespedes (4-1) struck out nine, walked five, and allowed one unearned run. Idelson Taveras (triple) and Anthony Marcano drove in two runs each and Michael Oliveira went 3-3 for the Expos.

Silas Reed (4-0) struck out 10 batters and allowed just three hits in 6.2 innings to pitch the Andre Chiefs to a 1-0 win over the Lexington Blue Sox at Maplewood. Both teams entered the game on six game winning streaks. Juan Parra’s third inning two out single drove in Joe Bova (walk) with the game’s only run. Matt Draper (5-1) suffered his first loss of the year despite allowing only the hit to Parra in 4.1 innings before giving way to Michael O’Brien in the fifth. Jon Shepard picked up the one out save for the Chiefs in the seventh with a K.

Expos Beat Americans 4-2 in Lone Sunday Game

Frankie Melendez (1-0) got the win and Ryan Cloutier chalked up his second save when the Middlesex Expos beat the Melrose Americans 4-2 at Morelli Field. It was the only ICL game played on Sunday.Melendez and Cloutier combined to strike out seven and allow only three hits. Chris Klein drove in both Melrose runs with a fifth inning double. Bailey Taylor Black (1-1) took the loss.

On Monday, the Andre Chiefs host the Lexington Blue Sox at Maplewood and the Stoneham Sabers and Expos tangle at East Boston Stadium. Both games will start at 8:00 PM.

ICL Sweeps Friday’s Four Crossover Games

The Lexington Bulldogs scored five times in the bottom of the first inning, led by John Noordman’s two run homer, then held on to edge ADSL 5-4 in Lexington on Friday night. Stuart Camp (1-0) went three innings in relief of starter Casey Hegan to grab the win while Greg Gentle threw a hitless seventh inning to record the save.

Mike Nestor (2-1) tossed a five inning three-hitter, striking out nine, to get the Melrose Americans an 11-0 shutout win over The BASE at Garvey Park in Dorchester. Nick Giangregorio had two doubles and four RBI’s and Chris Klein added a triple and three RBI’s to pace the Melrose offense.

Matt Donovan (1-0) gave up just one hit in six innings to lead the Middlesex Expos to a 7-1 win over the McKay Club Beacons at English High School in Jamacia Plain. Donovan struck out nine Beacon batters in the game.

The Andre Chiefs expoded for 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning on the way to a 16-3 win over Mass Envelope/Grossman Marketing at Fallon Field in Roslindale. Nolan Lopes (3-3) led the Chiefs’ 17 hit offense with a single, double, triple and five RBI’s. Andrew Caulfield (3-5, double) and Luis Tejada (2 doubles) each knocked in three runs. Tim Dunphy (3-1) went five innings for the win.

Thursday’s Recap

Dylan Walsh and Mitch McCabe had RBI’s and Yemer Pineda (2-1) got the win when the Lexington Blue Sox beat the E.I. Braves 3-1 on Thursday at Cleveland Circle. Luke Descheneaux picked up the two out save with the Braves threatening in the bottom of the seventh.

Veteran southpaw Evan Walsh (1-0) went 4.1 innings to get the victory in the Andre Chiefs’ 7-1 win over TJO Sports at Fallon Field in Roslindale. Miles Reid and Nolan Lopes has three hits each for the Chiefs.

In other games, the East Boston Knights beat the Lexington Bulldogs 15-3, the Palmer Club knocked off the Malden Maddogs 11-6, and the Al Thomas A’s defeated the Stoneham Sabers 9-3.

Ted Giardina’s fifth inning grand slam propelled the Melrose Americans to a 6-4 win over the Boston Patk League’s TJO Sports at Morelli Field on Wednesday night. Nick Colucci (1-2) went five innings to get the win while Mike Nestor picked up the two inning save. Ryan Bourgeois added a solo homer for the Americans.

Miles Reid homered and had six RBI’s to lead the Andre Chiefs to a 20-5 win over the McKay Club at Maplewood. Jaun Parra (3-3, double) and Nate Witkowski (2-3, double) added three RBI’s each. Nick Valdario went 3-3 and Joe Bova also homered for the Chiefs. A.J. Rourke (2-1) got the win.

Mitch McCabe drove in five runs, that included a second inning grand slam, to pace the Blue Sox to a 9-0 shutout of the Boston Padres in Lexington. Chris Wanat (3-1), in relief of Dan Metzdorf, gave up just one hit in four innings to chalk up the win,

In other ganes, the Brighton Braves beat the Stoneham Sabers 6-2 at Rogers Park and the East Bsoton Knights erased a 2-0 third inning deficit to come from behind and get a 7-3 win over the Middlesex Expos at EB Stadium.

Four Lexington Blue Sos pitchers (Mike O’Brien, Mark Herlihy, Cole Donato (1-0) & Jake Zawatsky) combined on a two-hitter in a 6-2 win over the Stoneham Sabers at Maplewood. Mitch McCabe had a double and triple to lead the Lexington offense.

In other games, the Middlesex Expos scored five times in the bottom of the first inning on the way to a 7-3 win over the Boston Athletics at East Boston Stadium, the Brighton Black Sox beat the Melrose Americans 6-4 at Brandeis, and the Palmer Club scored 13 runs in the fourth inning and took a 16-1 win over the Lexington Bulldogs at Fallon Field.

Monday’s ICL Roundup

Matt Draper (5-0) won his fifth straight decision, and lefty Ryan O’Rourke struck out eight batters in three innings to record the save, when the Blue Sox beat the Brighton Braves 3-1 in Lexington.

Paul Frisoli (1-0), in relief of starter Silas Reed, got his first win of the year and A.J. Rourke struck out the side in the seventh to get the save when the Andre Chiefs beat the Melrose Americans 6-3 at Maplewood. Tyler Ferdinand and Joe Bova each had a couple of hits for the Chiefs while John Jennings had two hits for Melrose.

Ryan Rametta (1-1) scattered five hits over six innings to pitch the Malden Maddogs to a 4-2 win over the E.I. Braves at Cleveland Circle. Eric Ramirez led the Malden offense with two doubles, a stolen base, and three RBI’s.

ADSL broke a 2-2 tie, scoring a couple of runs in both the top of the sixth and seventh innings, to pull away from the Middlesex Expos 6-2 at East Boston Stadium.

Sabers and Americans in Sunday Wins

Nick Powers (2-0) struck out 13 batters in six innings to lead the Stoneham Sabers to a 10-7 win over The Base at Morelli Field on Sunday. Leadoff man Luis Quintero, with a homer, and Jery Sena and Powers had two RBI’s each to pace the Stoneham offense. Angelo Colucci reached base four times, scored a couple of runs, and had an RBI single.

Bailey Taylor Black (1-0) gave up just one hit in 4.1 innings to give the Melrose Americans a 16-5 win over the Bulldogs in Lexington. Pat Costigan had a big day at the plate with two doubles, a single, and five RBI’s. The Ameriacns jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning..
