Americans Blank Maddogs 3-0, Three ICL Games Scheduled for Wednesday
Joe Maguire (1-0) tossed four strong innings of one-hit ball, striking out three, to lead the Melrose Americans to a 3-0 win over the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood. Nick Cortese led the Americans offense with two hits and an RBI. Josh Bohn and John Jennings drove in the other Melrose runs. Bobby Tramondozzi worked the final inning and a third to record his second save. Meridius Pendell (0-3) allowed just two hits in four innings but took the loss.
Tuesday’s Alibrandis at Reading Bulldogs game, scheduled for Austin Prep, was postponed due to a field conflict with an Austin Prep tournament game.
On Wednesday, the Maddogs and Americans switch venues and meet at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM, Alibrandis visits the Blue Sox in Lexington at 8:00 PM, and the Middlesex Expos host the Bulldogs at Trum Field at 8:30 PM.
