Blue Sox Beat Bulldogs 3-1 in Friday’s Only ICL Game
Dom Zaher’s two-run single gave the Blue Sox a 3-0 lead and led them to a 3-1 win over the Reading Bulldogs on Friday night in Lexington. Eric Lopes (1-0) made his first start for Lexington and responded with five shutout innings and a team season-high 10 strikeouts. A John Fritz line drive single drove in the first Blue Sox run in the fifth. Pat Solomon’s two-out double drove in Josh Garner with the lone Reading run. Greg Gentile (1-1) took the loss in relief for the Bulldogs. In two innings he gave up five hits and three runs. Manny Delcarmen chalked up his fifth save of the season.
There were no other ICL games played on Friday.
