Chiefs Walk-Off Bulldogs in 8th, Expos Edge Americans 2-1
Juan Parra’s one out solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning tied it and John Bapista’s single in the eighth won it when the Andre Chiefs beat the Lexington Bulldogs 6-5 at Maplewood on Wednesday night. Parra drove in three of the Chiefs runs in the game and Bapista had two hits and two RBI’s.
Teddy Dziuba and Ryan Noone each contributed two hits to the Chiefs 14 hit offense. Lefty Josh Desai went the first six innings, striking out nine, before giving way to AJ Rourke (1-0) who worked two scoreless frames to chalk up the win.
In Melrose, Jay Gamboa (1-0) went five strong innings to gain the win and Dan Shaw chalked up the two inning save when the Sabertooth Expos took their third straight win 2-1 over the Americans at Morelli Field. Matt Consigli (RBI) and Nick Solitro had the only hits the Expos needed in the game. Six Melrose pitchers combined to limit the Expos to two hits with Nick Colucci (0-1) taking the hard luck loss. Cory Bright drove in the lone Melrose run in the third inning.
On Thursday, the Expos visit the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood at 8:00 PM
