Expos and Bulldogs Take Tuesday Night Wins

Leon Paulino drove in two runs and Ryan Cloutier and Matt Consigli had an RBI each in a 4-1 Sabertooth Expos win over the Blue Sox in Lexington on Tuesday night. David Kerns (1-0) went six strong innings to grab the win while Jack Sarno, who struck out the side in the seventh inning, chalked up his first save of the season. Borja Jones-Bersaluce (0-1), in relief of Chris Winat (4 innings, 1 hit, 3 K’s) and Steven Bangs (0.2) innings, took the loss. Bryan Acosta drove home the lone Blue Sox run in the bottom of the fifth. With the win the first place Expos move to 7-1 on the year.

The Lexington Bulldogs rode the strong pitching of Vincent Loguidice to gain a 3-1 win over the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood. Loguidice (1-1) went six innings, allowing six hits while striking out six. Josh Garner threw a scoreless seventh, with two K’s, to record the save. Patrick Solomon led the Bulldogs offense with two hits, two RBI’s, and two stolen bases.

On Wednesday the Maddogs visit the Andre Chiefs at Maplewood and the Expos entertain the Melrose Americans at Trum Field in Somerville. Both games will start at 8:00 PM.
