Chiefs and Americans Grab Monday Wins
The Andre Chiefs overcame a 3-0 first inning deficit to eventually walk off with a 7-6 win over TJO Sports on Monday at Maplewood. Michael McCarthy and Nate Witkowski each had two hits and drove in two runs apiece for the Chiefs. Carlo Rosa’s hit in the bottom of the seventh provided the game winner. Dominic Monico went the first 5.2 innings, striking out 10, before giving way to Vance Serano (3-2) who recorded the win…..The first place Melrose Americans held off a six run seventh inning rally to beat the Boston A’s 14-13 at Morelli Field. Ryan Bourgeois led the offense with two hits that included a homer and three RBI while Pat Costigan added three singles and drove in a couple of runs. Bailey Taylor Black (2-0) threw three innings to get the win….The E.I. Braves scored nine times in the top of the third inning and went on to beat the Blue Sox 11-6 in Lexington…….
