Blue Sox Unbeaten Streak Extends to 13 Games
The Lexington Blue Sox erased a 4-0 defecit and scored seven unanswered runs on the way to a 7-4 win over Mass Envelope/Grossman Marketing at Minuteman Vocational on Friday evening. With the win the Blue Sox extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games (12-0-1) dating back to June 26.
The first seven Lexington batters reached base in the five run sixth inning. Anderson Jimenez singled to drive in runs two and three abd then scored on Ryan Grundy’s double for a 5–4 lead. Lexington added two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Julian Alvarez drove in a couple of runs, scored twice, and added an RBI.
Luke Descheneaux (3-1) picked up the win with four innings of two-hit pitching in relief of starter Grant Strother.
