Americans Beat Blue Sox, Sabers Knock Off Chiefs
Chris Cimino had a double and two RBI’s when the Melrose Americans beat the Lexington Blue Sox 8-4 at Morelli Field. The Americans broke a 3-3 tie when they scored five times in the bottom of the fifth inning. Ben Cassavoy (1-1) went three innings in relief of Luke Yorba to get the win. Patrick Casserly and Harrison Tucker both homered for the Blue Sox.
Chris Barnes struck out seven in four innings and Jack Raimo threw three scoreless innings to pitch the Stomeham Sabers to a 8-3 win over the Andre Chiefs at Maplewood. Danny Choate had a two run homer and Angelo Colucci and Greg Reed had a couple of RBI’s each.
