Bulldogs Rally to Beat Chiefs 9-8, Lead Series 2-0
(Lexington, MA) In one the largest comebacks in ICL playoff history, the Lexington Bulldogs stormed back from an 8-0 second inning deficit to defeat the Andre Chiefs 9-8 on Friday night. With the win the Bulldogs take a two games to none lead in the best of five Championship Series.
Emilio Berndt’s double, Ian Born’s single, and a sacrifice fly from Jaden Velis, provided the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Berndt, Born, Velis, Shane Costello, Adam Murphy, and Oliver Henke all had RBI’s for Lexington.
Greg Gentle got the win with three innings of scoreless relief while striking out four.
Game three of the series is scheduled to be played at Morelli Field in Melrose on Monday night at 7:45 PM. In the event of wet grounds at Morelli, there is a possibility that the game could be moved to Fraser Field in Lynn. A decision will be made early Monday and will be posted here.
