Bulldogs Take First Ever ICL Championship
(Lynn, MA) The Lexington Bulldogs won their first ever Intercity League Championship with a come from behind 7-4 win over the Andre Chiefs at Fraser Field on Monday night.
The Bulldogs swept the best of five series after winning game one 12-6 and then taking game two in dramatic fashion 9-8.
Seamus Condon led the Bulldogs to the championship going 3-4 with a double and a couple of RBI’s.
Brett Stone, Caleb Conner, Matthew Favarro, Peyton Heisner, and Adam Murphy, all drove in single runs while Jack Lee had two hits including a triple.
Ian Born worked the first 2.2 innings for the Bulldogs while Matt Mariani went the next four innings to get the win. Chase Carder got the final out of the night to record the save.
Chris Dion took the loss for the Chiefs.
Eric Steinkrauss’ Bulldogs beat the Stoneham Sabers in the Play-in game 6-1 before knocking off the defending chmapion Blue Sox two games to one in the semifinals.
The Bulldogs finish their championship season with an overall record of 20-12 after going 6-1 in their playoff run.
