Bentley University’s Jared Brooks (pictured) struck out 10 and allowed just three hits to pitch Alibrandis to a complete game 2-0 shutout win over the Melrose Americans at Morelli Field. Kyle Halloran, Kenny Polanco and Joe Boushell each had two hits each for Alibrandis. Four Melrose pitchers, Joe Maguire, Mike Peters, Colin Jaena (0-1) and Bobby Tranondozzi allowed just six hits.

Bret Samboy’s RBI single in the top of the ninth inning broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Middlesex Expos to a 2-1 extra inning win over the Reading Bulldogs in the first ICL game ever played at Austin Prep. Scott Hall went the first six innings for Middlesex allowing just one hit and striking out ten. David Kerns (1-0) picked up the win with two innings of relief while Ryan Qualey got his first save.

Graham Seed (2-0) and Luke Gustavson combined on a neat four-hitter, striking out eleven, and the Andre Chiefs erupted for eight first inning runs on the way to an 11-3 win over the Malden Maddogs at Trum Field. Mitch Schroeder led the Chiefs’ twelve hit attack going a perfect four for four including a double and two RBI.
