Americans Win Third Straight, 10-3
| The Melrose Americans put up crooked numbers in the first and fourth innings to stay perfect (3-0) and hand the Blue Sox their first loss (1-1-1) in a 10-3 win in Lexington on Friday night. It was the only game on the iCL schedule.
The Americans scored all the runs they’d need on four consecutive two-out hits in the top of the 1st, punctuated by Tad Giardina’s three-run homer to dead center.
After allowing three runs on two hits in the bottom of the first, Brandon McMahon (1-0) allowed no runs and two hits over the next five innings to pick up his first win. Ryan Dolan struck out the Blue Sox in order in the bottom of the seventh. Jon Leuders and Anderson Jimenez each had a double and scored a run for the Blue Sox. There are no ICL games on Saturday. |
