Walsh Pitches Chiefs to 5-2 Win Over Blue Sox
Southpaw Evan Walsh (1-0) tossed a complete game five-hitter to give the Andre Chiefs a 5-2 win over the Blue Sox in Lexington on Friday night. Walsh struck out five and threw six shutout innings before allowing a couple of runs in the Blue Sox seventh. Nick Valdario had three hits, stole two bases, scored twice, and drove in a run to lead the Chiefs’ offense. Juan Parra added two hits and Jackson Duffy had a triple for the visitors. Michael Finch (single, triple) had two of the Lexington hits while Andrew Selima and Jesse McCullough drove in the seventh inning Blue Sox runs. Starter Steven Bangs (0-1), Sean Mahan, Ryan O’Rourke and Manny Delcarmen all worked for Lexington.
ICL action resumes on Sunday with the Chiefs visiting the Americans at Morelli Field at 4:00 PM and the Malden Maddogs meeting the Reading Bulldogs at 5:00 PM in Lexington.
