Tuesday’s ICL Roundup

The Andre Chiefs edged the Middlesex Expos 2-1 in nine innings on Tuesday night at East Boston Stadium. Tim Dunphy went the first seven innings before giving way to Cameron Breault (1-0) in the eighth who picked up the win. A.J. Rourke chalked up the one out save with the Expos threatening in the bottom of the ninth. Teddy Dziuba had two hits and an RBI to lead the Chiefs.

Chris Wanat got the win when the Lexington Blue Sox beat the Malden Maddogs 7-5 at Maplewood.

The Al Thomas A’s edged rhe Lexington Bulldogs 4-3 at LHS. Evan O’Rourke and Jonathan Rodriguez had two hits each for the Bulldogs.

The ICL will resume play on Sunday, July 7.

Chiefs Win, Americans-Expos in 1-1 Tie

Luis Tejada had a homer, two RBI’s, and scored twice, to lead the Andre Chiefs past the Stoneham Sabers 8-5 at Maplewood on Monday night. Nolan Lopes went three for three with an RBI and Ruben Rodriguez Jr added a couple of RBI’s. A. J. Rourke (1-1)  picked up the win with three innings of work in relief of starter Evan Walsh. Nick Bartalini had a double and drove in two runs for the Sabers.

It was a pitcher’s duel at East Boston Stadium where the Melrose Americans and Middlesex Expos played to an eventual 1-1 nine inning tie. Dan Shaw (13 K’s, 7 hits) went the distance for the Expos while Jack Dyer (5 innings), Dominic Pefine (2.2 innings) and Nick Colucci (1.1) inning limited the Expos to three hits and combined to strike out 10.

On Tuesday, the Lexington Bulldogs host the Al Thomas A’s at 7:30 PM, the Chiefs visit the Expos at East Boston Stadium at 8, and the Malden Maddogs entertain the Lexington Blue Sox at Maplewood, also at 8:00 PM.

Following tonight’s games the ICL will start its annual 4th of July break. Play will resume on Sunday, July 7.

Voca Grand Slam Paces Bulldogs, Cepada Single Gives Sabers Walk-Off Win Over Expos

Jay Voca hit a grand slam and the Bulldogs used four pitchers to beat the Malden Maddogs 9-4 in Lexington on Sunday evening. Peyton Heisner (1-0) struck out seven in 3.1 innings to record the win.

Emanuel Cepada’s walk off single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Stoneham Sabers a 3-2 win over the Middlesex Expos at Recreation Park. It was a special moment for Cepada as his grandfather Orlando Cepada, an MLB Hall of Famer, passed away on 6/28/24. Julian Murray was terrific for the Sabers, tossing 6.1 strong innings. However, Murray earned a tough luck no decision. Nick Powers came in and struck out two batters, to earn the win. Powers also had an RBI single. Angelo Colucci led the Saber offense with two hits and a RBI.

Tyler Normandie had an RBI triple for the Expos.

On Monday, the Melrose Americans meet the Expos at East Boston Stadium and the Sabers and the Andre Chiefs tangle at Maplewood. Both games are scheduled to start at 8:00 PM.

 

Lexington Blue Sox

Blue Sox Beat BPL’s Palmer Club 5-3, Maddogs Lose to ADSL 14-13

Matt Dozier upped his record to a perfect 4-0, going six innings and striking out seven, when the Blue Sox beat the Boston Park League’s Palmer Club 5-3 on Friday night in Lexington. Nick Anderson and David Vanderzowan (2 RBI’s) both had run producing triples for Lexington. Jake Zawatsky worked a scoreless seventh with two K’s to pick up his first save.

ADSL was an extra point better than the Malden Maddogs in a 14-13 win at Town Field in Dorcester. Aaron Lundgren had a homer and four RBI’s for ADSL.

There are no ICL games scheduled on Saturday.

Thursday’s Roundup

The Brighton Black Sox of the YBL edged the Lexington Blue Sox 3-2 at Brandeis University. Charlie Walsh had two hits and stole a base for the Blue Sox. Yemer Pineda (1-1) took the loss.

The Melrose Americans lost 2-1 to the E.I. Braves of the BPL. Brandon McMahon allowed just three hits in five innings and Nick Colucci (0-2) was tagged with the loss despite striking out three in 1.2 innings.

At Maplewood, TJO Sports of the BPL beat the Malden Maddogs in extra innings 13-8.

On Friday, the Palmer Club visits the Blue Sox in Lexington and the Maddogs travel to Town Field in Dorchester to meet ADSL. Bosth games will start at 8:00 PM.

Tuesday’s ICL Roundup

Ryan Williams (1-1) tossed six strong innings when the Stoneham Sabers knocked off the McKay Club Beacons 10-2 at Libby Field in Weymouth. Angelo Colucci and Liam Stott each had two RBI’s for Stoneham.

John Baptista’s bases clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning keyed a five run Middlesex Expos rally on their way to a 7-6 win over Mass Envelope/GM at Fallon Field in Roslindale. Dan Shaw went the distance to get the win striking out nine batters.

In other action the Boston Athletics beat the Melrose Americans at Town Field in Dorchester 6-1. Pat Costigan had two of the American’s five hits and the Boston Padres walked off with a 4-3 over the Malden Maddogs at Cleveland Circle.

Expos, Bulldogs & Blue Sox Get Inter-League Wins, Chiefs Lose to Boston Padres

It was all Inter-League action for the ICL on Monday night.

The Middlesex Expos got three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on an Ideson Taveras single and a John Baptista two RBI triple to edge the E.I. Braves 6-5 at East Boston Stadium.

Hayden Groh (1-0) got the win and Jonathan Rodriguez had three RBI’s in the Lexington Bulldogs 9-5 win over the McKay Club Beacons at English High School in Jamaica Plain.

Ryan O’Rourke (1-0) picked up the win with two innings of six strikeout relief when the Blue Sox shutout Mass Envelope/GM 10-0 in Lexington.

At Maplewood, the Boston Padres rallied past the Andre Chiefs 9-7.

Americans Beat Maddogs 12-3, Bulldogs Double Up Chiefs, 6-3

Shawn Nestor and Chris Klein had three RBI’s each and John Jennings had two hits, including a homer and two RBI’s, when the Americans beat the Malden Maddogs 12-3 in Melrose. Jack Dyer (1-0) picked up the win throwing 3.1 innings in relief of starter Mike Nestor. The duo combined to strike out 15.

At Maplewood, Jonathan Rodriguez hit two solo homers to lead the Lexington Bulldogs to a 6-3 win over rhe Andre Chiefs. Brendan Albert had a two RBI triple and Mike Silbert added three hits for the winners. Gabe Van Emon (1-0) got the win with two innings of one-hit four strikeout relief. Joe Walsh woeked a scoreless seventh to chalk up his second save of the year.

On Thursday, the Chiefs visit the Blue Sox in Lexington, the Maddogs host the Middlesex Expos at Maplewood, and the Stoneham Sabers play the E.I. Braves of the Boston Park League at Cleveland Circle. All games are scheduled to start at 8:00 PM.

Malden Maddogs

Carrillo Pitches Maddogs to 8-2 Win

Rich Carrillo (2-0) allowed just one earned run when the Malden Maddogs beat the Stoneham Sabers 8-2 on Tuesday night at Maplewood.

It was the only game on the ICL schedule.

On Wednesday the Maddogs will visit the Melrose Anericans at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM and Andre Chiefs host the Lexington Bulldogs at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.

 

 

Chiefs’ Reed Throws 1-Hitter, Draper Goes to 3-0 for Blue Sox

Silas Reed fired a one-hit shutout when the Andre Chiefs blanked the Middlesex Expos 4-0 at Maplewood on Monday night. Reed struck out 10 batters and upped his season mark ro 3-0 on the season. Tyler Ferdinand had a 3 for 3 night at the plate and drove in two of the Chiefs’ four runs.

Matt Draper (3-0) went five innings to get the win when the Blue Sox beat the Bulldogs 9-1 in an all Lexington battle. Mitch McCabe led the Blue Sox with a couple of doubles and two RBI’s and Austin Masel and Andrew Selima added two RBI’s each.

The Stoneham Sabers visit the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood (8:00 PM) in Tuesday’s only ICL game.
