Bulldogs Beat Americans, Expos Win 17-1

Brett Stone (2-4) homered and drove in four runs to lead the Bulldogs to an 11-7 victory over the Melrose Americans on Tuesday evening in Lexington. Coley Schaeder (3-0) struck out seven in five innings to get his third straight win. Ian Born and Nick Favazzo chipped in with a couple of RBI’s each while Owen Duggan had three hits and John Jennings drove in two runs for the Americans…..At Maplewood, the Middlesex Expos scored nine times in the top of the seventh inning to pull away from the Stoneham Sabers 17-1……

Witkowski (6 RBI’s) Leads Chiefs, Blue Sox Edge Sabers for 8th Straight Win

Veteran shortstop Nate Witkowski went 4-5 and drove home a career high six runs to lead the Andre Chiefs to a 16-1 win over the Melrose Americans on Monday night at Maplewood. Yariel Salinas (3-4, double) hit his league leading fifth homer of the saeson and had four RBI’s, Michael McCarthy (2-4, 2 RBI) homered,  and Michael Soares added a double and single and knocked in three runs. Dominic Monico (4-0) struck out six and allowed only three hits in his five innings to pick up the win………….Tyler Normandie stole home on the back end of a double steal in the bottom of the sixth to give the Lexington Blue Sox a 4-3 win over the Stoneham Sabers. It was the eighth win in row for Lexington. Normandie started the inning with a pinch-hit single. He moved to second on an infield out and took third on an infield single by Charlie Comella. With two outs Comella stole second and Normandie came home with the winning run. Dom Gabardi singled to drive in the first two Blue Sox runs in the third. Comella singled to score Max Dushney (double) to give Lexington a 3-1 lead after four. Matt Consgli’s sac fly scored the Sabers first run in the fourth. Dionys Quezada and Nick Bartalini had RBI hits for Stoneham in the fifth. Grant Strother (1-0) earned his first Lexington win pitchng 1.1 shutout innings in relief……...

Blue Sox Rally to Beat Expos, Maddogs Beat Bulldogs in Sunday Action

Luis Antiles’ sacrifice fly scored Nick Andersen (triple) with the go-ahead run in the top of seventh when the Lexington Blue Sox beat the Middlesex Expos 3-2 at Ferullo Field. Luke Marshall (1-0) got the win and Josh Becker the save in relief of starter Matt Draper who went the first five innings…..The Malden Maddogs scored six runs in the first two innings and then held on to beat the Lexington Bulldogs 7-4 at LHS. Sam Browing had a two run homer and Teddy McLaughlin had a two RBI double. Brian Perine (3-0) struck out seven in four innings to get the win…..

 

 

 

Sabers and Bulldogs Get Friday Wins

The Stoneham Sabers scored nne runs in the bottom of the first inning on the way to 9-4 win over Mass Envelope/GM at Maplewood on Friday night. Dionys Quezada and Nick Bartalini led the Sabers’ offense with two hits, a double, two runs and two  RBI each. Camren Piwnicki (1-2) pitched four scoreless innings in relief, striking out six, to earn the win……The Lexington Bulldogs beat the Brighton Braves 10-2 at Rogers Park……

Blue Sox Blank TJO Sports, Maddogs Beat Boston A’s

Jack Velo (2-1) and Cole Donato combined on a 2-hit shutout when the Lexington Blue Sox beat TJO Sports 5-0 in a game that was moved to Minuteman Tech. Velo set down the first eight batters, four by strikeout. Donato retired all six batters he faced, the last two by strikeout. The duo struck out 11 in the game. Brendan Jones had two hits for Lexington and David VanderZouwen scored and drove in a run. Erick Ramirez, Julian Alvarez and Bryan Acosta each had an RBI for Lexington…….Zak Whitney struck out nine in just five innings to lead the Malden Maddogs to a 3-1 win over the Boston A’s at Maplewood. Matt Decarney (1-0) picked up the win while Liam Childs recorded the save. Luke Miele had two hits and an RBI for Malden……All other games were postponed……

Blue Sox Beat Braves 9-2, Chiefs Lose, Other Games PPD

The Lexington Blue Sox used a 5-run first inning on the way to a 9-2 win Wednesday night. The game was moved to Minuteman Tech’s turf field after the Lexington’s home field was unplayable due to rain. Nick Andersen’s 2-run triple was the big hit in the first. Erick Ramirez had three hits and scored three runs. Chris Wanat (2-1) pitched five 1-run innings. He gave up four hits, walked none, and struck out six. Dan Metzdorf and Ryan O’Rourke pitched the sixth and seventh innings and both had three strikeouts……..Mass Envelope/GM doubled up the Andre Chiefs 8-4 at Maplewood. The Chiefs relinquished a 3-0 4th inning lead when the visitors scored a half dozen runs. Miles Reid reached base four times f0r the Chiefs and Joe Bova and Michael Soares (double) had RBI’s……All other games were postponed…..

Bulldogs Walk Off ADSL in Only ICL Game Played on Tuesday

The Lexington Bulldogs scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge the BPL’s ADSL 2-1 on Tuesday in Lexington. Brett Stone (double) had three hits for the Bulldogs while Vince Libretto and Shane Costello supplied the RBI’s. Alec Peruzzi (1-2) picked up the win with two innings of five strikeout, scoreless and hitless relief, after taking over frrom Coley Schaefer (5 innings, 2 hits, 0 ER, 5 K’s) and Matt Mahoney (1 inning, 0 hits, 2 K’s)…… Both games that were to be hosted by the Boston Park League (Chiefs at E.I Braves and Sabers at Boston A’s) were postponed…….

Blue Sox and Maddogs Open Second Half with Wins

In the battle of Lexington bragging rights, Luis Atiles pinch-hit two-run home run in the top of the seventh delivered the 4-2 win for the Blue Sox.
The Sox took a 2-0 lead in the first on Nick Andersen’s 2-run single that plated David VanderZouwen and Erick Ramirez. Andersen scored on Atiles’ HR.
The Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom of the second. John Nordman’s bases-loaded walk brought in the first run and Jay Voica sac fly knotted the score.
After Nordman’s walk only three Bulldogs reached base. Blue Sox starter Michael O’Brien set down 11 of the last 12 batters, including eight straight, he faced. Reliever Luke Descheneaux retired the first 5 batters he faced…….The Malden Maddogs got three RBI’s, on two hits, from Sam Browning on the way to a 7-2 win over the Brighton Black Sox at Brandeis University in Waltham. Luke Whitney (double, RBI, 2 runs) and Luke Miele added a couple of hits each to Malden’s nine-hit offense. Justin Posnik (3-2) struck out nine batters in his five innings to record the win……..In other Inter-League play, Mass Envelope/GM beat the Middlesex Expos 6-4 in Roslindale and the Boston Padres walked off the Melrose Americans 7-6 at Cleveland Circle. Chris Klein (homer), Nick Giangregorio, and Nate Galanis each had two hits for Melrose.,,,,,,,

Chiefs Blank Boston A’s 8-0, Sabers & Expos Lose as First Half Concludes

The Andre Chiefs moved into a first place tie with the Melrose Americans at 11-4-1 after blanking the Park League’s Boston A’s 8-0 on Wednesday night at Town Field in Dorchester. Michael Soares was a one man show for the Chiefs pitching five shutout innings and going 3-3 at the plate with two doubles, three runs scored, and an RBI. Tyler Ferdinand (double, 2 RBI), Nick Valdario, and Tim Catalano, each contributed a couple of hits to the Chiefs’ 13-hit offense while Ruben Rodriguez Jr added two RBI. Soares (1-0) got the win and Jonathan Chotkowski kept the shutout intact by working a scoreless sixth and seventh innings…….In other games, the BPL’s Palmer Club beat the Stoneham Sabers 6-0 at Maplewood and the E.I. Braves doubled up the Middlesex Expos 8-4 at Cleveland Circle….The Lexington Blue Sox-Mass Envelope/GM game scheduled for Fallon Field was postponed……

Monico Throws 1-Hitter for Chiefs, Sox Blank Boston Padres, Maddogs Edge ADSL

Dominic Monico came within one strike of a no-hitter when the Andre Chiefs shutout the Al Thomas A’s 5-0 at Maplewood on Monday. Monico, now 3-0, sruck out 12 and walked just one. Sam Browning broke up the no-hit bid with a two out, two strike, double in the top of the seventh. Ruben Rodriguez Jr and Michael Soares each had two hits and two RBI’s…..A.J. Lasko hit a three run homer to lead the Lexington Blue Sox to a 5-0 blanking of the Boston Padres at Cleveland Circle. Michael O’Brien (1-0) went four innings to get the win. He got relief help from Cole Donato (2 innings) and Josh Becker (1 inning). The trio combined to strike out a dozen…..In other games, the Malden Maddogs beat ADSL 8-6 at Town Field and the Melrose Americans lost to the E.I. Braves 8-6 at Morelli, despite a two-run homer from Ted Giardina and three hits from Owen Duggan….
