Expos and Chiefs Get Wednesday Shutout Wins
Nick Johnson fired a complete game four-hit shutout to lead the Sabertooth Expos to a 7-0 win over the Melrose Americans on Wednesday night at Morelli Field. Dionys Quezada had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs to lead the offense. Matt Consigli added three hits and an RBI and Andrew Mazzone had a couple of singles for the Expos. Johnson, now a perfect 5-0, struck out 13 batters. He now has struck out 84 in just 42 innings. Shawn Nestor had two of the Americans’ four hits in the game.
At Maplewood, Lefty Evan Walsh upped his record to 3-1 on the year with a two-hit, 10 K, five inning outing to give the Andre Chiefs a 10-0 win over the Lexington Bulldogs. Andrew Caulfield had a three run homer, Luis Tejada a two-run shot, and Teddy Dziuba chipped in with two RBI’s for the Chiefs. Graham Seed had all three of the Bulldogs hits in the game, including a fifth inning double.
