Americans Beat Sabers 5-1, Chiefs Edge Sabers 5-4

Ryan Bourgeois homered and drove in three runs to lead the Melrose Americans to a 5-1 win over the Malden Maddogs on Wednesday at Morelli Field. Brandon McMahon (3-0) worked six innings to gain his third straight decision. McMahon allowed just three hits and one run while striking out eight. Nick Colucci came on and struck out the Maddogs’ side in the seventh. Shawn MacPhee added two RBI’s for the Americans…….At Maplewood, the Andre Chiefs got two RBI’s each from Ruben Rodriguez Jr (3-3, double) and Yariel Salinas. on the way to a 5-4 win over the Stoneham Sabers. Matt Doherty (3-1) picked up the win while Michael Soares chalked up his second save. Doherty allowed just one earned run in 5.1 inning as the Chiefs made a season high five errors.
