Blue Sox and Expos Win on Thursday Night
The Blue Sox unleashed a 20 run barrage and abruptly ended the Andre Chiefs four game winning streak with a 20-3 win in Lexington on Thursday night. Dom Zaher’s first inning grand slam and Julian Alvarez’s second inning three run shot helped in getting the Sox out to a 17-0 lead. Ernie Little (2 doubles) and Anderson Jimenez both had three hits for Lexington. Steven Bangs (2-0) picked up the win in relief of starter Eric Lopes. Andrew Caulfield provided the majority of the Chiefs 11 hit offense with a two run homer in the fifth inning.
At Maplewood, Zach Kirby (1-0) struck out eight in 4.2 innings to get the win when the Sabertooth Expos knocked off the Malden Maddogs 11-5. Matt Consigli and Ryan Cloutier led the Sabertooth attack with three RBI’s apiece. Cloutier worked the final 2.1 innings, striking out four batters, in relief of Kirby.
The Chiefs visit the Expos at Trum Field in Somerville at 8:00 PM in the only game on Friday’s schedule.
