Johnson K’s 13 as Expos Rally Past Chiefs 7-3
The Sabertooth Expos rallied from a 3-0 fifth inning deficit to rally past the Andre Chiefs 7-3 on Friday night at Trum Field in Somerville.
Leon Paulino’s three run homer and Matt Consigli’s two run double keyed the Expos comeback as they scored five times in the bottom of the fifth and then added a couple of more runs in the home half of the sixth inning.
Nick Johnson was dominant after giving up the three first inning runs. He shut the Chiefs down over the final six frames striking out 13 batters. Johnson, now 3-0, has struck out 42 batters in 21 innings so far this season.
Chiefs starter Evan Walsh was cruising through the first four innings before the Expos got to him in the fifth. Walsh (1-1) had 11 strikeouts of his own before yielding to Jonathan Chotkowski who worked the sixth for the Chiefs.
Juan Parra, Miles Reid, and Andrew Caulfield, with a two RBI double, all had a couple of hits each for the Chiefs.
There are no ICL games scheduled on Saturday or Sunday. Play resumes on Monday when the Bulldogs host the Melrose Americans in Lexington at 7:00 PM and the Blue Sox visit the Chiefs at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.
