Blue Sox, Bulldogs and Expos Gain Monday Wins

The Lexington Blue Sox opened up a 5-0 first inning lead then coasted to a 9-2 win over the Melrose Americans on Monday night at Morelli Field. Nick Andersen homered and drove on three runs for the Blue Sox……Coley Schaefer (5-0) stayed perfect on the year to lead the Lexington Bulldogs to a 2-0 shutout win over the Andre Chiefs at Maplewood. Matt Favazzo had an RBI single. Jack Sadowski (2 innings) and Greg Gentile (7th inning save) combined to keep the Chiefs off the scoreboard over the last three frames……Kevin Matos raced home on a passed ball in the top of the eighth inning to give the Middlesex Expos a 1-0 win over the Malden Maddogs in Lexington. Zack Kirby and Zach Gitschier (win) combined on the shutout. Zak Whitney, with nine K’s, took the tough loss…..

Sunday’s Recap

The ICL beagn its last week of the regular season with three games on Sunday.

The Malden Maddogs beat the Stoneham Sabers 9-6 at Recreation Park, the Middlesex Expos blanked TJO Sports at Wildwood Park in Burlington 4-0, and the Lexington Bulldogs crushed the E.I. Braves 12-1 at Catholic Memorial.

On Monday, the Melrose Americans host the Lexington Blue Sox at Morelli Field at 7:30 PM, the Bulldogs travel to meet the Andre Chiefs at 8:00 PM at Maplewood, and Expos and Maddogs meet at 8:00 PM at Lexington High.

Expos Beat Chiefs 6-4 to Remain in Playoff Hunt

The Middlesex Expos jumped out to 5-1 second inning lead and went on to beat the Andre Chiefs 6-4 on Friday night at Maplewood. Kebler Peralta and Leon Paulino each had two hits, including a double, and a couple of RBI’s each. Dan Shaw (2-2) went the distance to get the win. Shaw allowed nine hits and struck out 10. With the win, the Expos stay alive for a playoff spot. It was the fifth straight loss for the Chiefs……The Malden Maddogs at Palmer Club game, scheduled for Fallon Field in Roslindale, was postponed,,,,,
